6700 | Union Pacific / Southern Pacific Ice Car |
E+++ | Yes | $ 35 | Unique, operating "Pacific Fruit Express" Reefer from 1982-83: this special 6464-type boxcar was made to be used in concert with the 2306 Ice Depot.
Photo of the loading side. Has an unpainted orange body with black lettering plus diecast sprung trucks and operating knuckle couplers. Photo of the roof and the ice cubes. The car is very, very clean with beautiful graphics. The mechanism works perfectly. Comes with five ice cubes. If you have an Ice Depot missing the car or if you just want an unusual piece of rolling stock, this one will fill the need. Prefer the original Ice Car? 6-2308 | Animated Newsstand | New/OB | Yes | $ 85 SOLD |
A BRAND NEW operating, illuminated newsstand from 1982 & 1983: it is virtually identical in design and operation to the postwar 128
Newsstand that was sold from 1957 to 1960. It is a rather amusing structure featuring a newsboy peddling newspapers out front while an
attendant moves back and forth inside and an all-white dog chases its tail by a fire hydrant. Has a dark-green shack, a tan base and a red roof.
The base measures 8 1/2 inches wide, by 6 1/4 inches deep and the entire unit is
4 1/4 inches high.
Photo of the Newsstand. Comes with the unopened package which contains the correct Accessory Switch (#6-5901), three connecting wires and the two terminal caps plus the two instruction sheets (#s 2308-250 & 2308-251) and the warranty card. Photo of the switch, instruction sheets and the warranty card. Gorgeous; it was "bench tested" and the newsstand lights and works perfectly! Photo of the box. Grade 9 original box (creases; scrape from removing a price sticker; no insert). A very useful layout piece: provides illumination and sound plus it does not take up very much space!
