6475 Libby's Crushed Pineapple Vat Car (1963 - 64) |
---|
About This Freight Car
The 6475 Libby's Crushed Pineapple Vat Car was introduced by Lionel in 1963 as an uncatalogued item and was sold for two years (through 1964). It came in the Libby's promotional set (#19263). There are two known versions of this car: the more common one has a medium blue body; the rare version has an aqua body. Each one was decorated with white heat-stamped lettering and carried a load of four vats. The vats were decorated with silver adhesive stickers that had red and blue letters.

Additional Details
The steps of the vat car are very fragile and it is hard to find a 6475 with all four steps intact. The Libby's Vat Car has the same number as its more common "sister" car -- the 6475 Pickles Vat Car. Both cars are the same in terms of construction but are decorated with different colors and graphics. The Pineapple Car came with either AAR trucks or arch-bar trucks.
