---|
About This Steam Engine
The 2055 Steam Engine was introduced by Lionel in 1953 and was sold for three
years (through 1955). This item consisted of two separate pieces: a steamer with a "4-6-4"
wheel arrangement and one of two different whistling coal tenders: a 2046W streamlined style or
a 6026W square (or "coffin") style. The engine was decorated with an ornamental bell plus a
complete set of drive wheel hardware. The "2055" cab number was white (either rubber-stamped or
heat-stamped).
