About This Steam Engine
The 2037 Steam Engine was introduced by Lionel in 1953 and was sold for three years
(through 1955) and then again for seven years from 1957 through 1963. This item consisted of two
separate pieces: a steamer with a "2-6-4" wheel arrangement and any one of six different coal
tenders: 1130T, 6066T, & 6026T non-whistling types, or 233W, 234W & 6026W whistling types. The
engine was decorated with an ornamental bell plus sparse driving hardware. The "2037" cab number
was white (either rubber-stamped or heat-stamped).
